Currently, there is no specific antiviral drug available to treat Yellow Fever. Since it's caused by a virus, antibiotics and antiviral medications do not work. Instead, treatment for Yellow Fever is largely supportive. This means doctors focus on relieving symptoms and preventing complications. Supportive care may include administering fluids to prevent dehydration, managing fever with medications like acetaminophen (avoiding aspirin due to bleeding risks), and monitoring vital organ functions, especially in severe cases where liver or kidney failure can occur. In some instances, if the disease progresses to the toxic phase, more intensive care, such as dialysis or blood transfusions, may be required. Prevention through vaccination remains the most effective way to protect against Yellow Fever.
